This post will be in English, pardon me if my grammar is clumsy and lousy (?).
So, as I mentioned before , I have suffered from this somewhat seborrheic dermatitis, one of the eczema type. For 3 years, yikes! Although my flaky skin appeared irregularly (it always appear in the weather transition period, on March and September), it bothers me. A lot. So when I knew that Dear Klairs launched this cream, I was excited and didn’t hesitate to try.
Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream
The packing is made from glass, and because of my clumsiness, I am afraid I’ll break it someday. Unfortunately, I broke the tiny spoon included in the box about couple weeks ago . I prefer my Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream packaging that is made from plastic.

What You Should Know About The Ingredients
Whaaat, so it contains glycerin?! Okay, if you are as careful as me (or rather you are being too critical like me, lol), you might aware to this. Because we already know that glycerin can be made animal based or plant based. Thankfully, Dear Klairs made this announcement, claimed that they only produce vegetarian cosmetics and skin care. And soon to be a vegan one. It’s really great news, ha!
From what I saw at Wishtrend, Dear Klairs using natural glycerin for their soap. So what is natural glycerin? Natural glycerin is not a chemical or alcohol; it is derived from plant-based oils. It has hygroscopic properties, meaning it absorbs moisture and, if left alone, would absorb up to 20% of its weight in water. That’s how it keeps your skin wonderfully moist . This cream is perfectly safe, not only for sensitive skin but for all skin type.
They also claimed Guaiazulene treating eczema with 60,6% succeed. And what this ingredient anyway? Guaiazulene is another azulene derivative which is present in the essential oil obtained from distilling the wood and bark of Callistris intratropica. As an anti-inflammatory compound, Guaiazulene has a potential benefit in reducing hypervascularity . So somehow guaiazulene can help to reduce or even heal any type of eczema.
How To Use
You have to apply this after toner and serum. Because my skin is a combination type, I don’t need to hydrate more my skin, but I sometimes add some moisturizing cream. But, if you have a dry skin type, you really need to add more layer with moisturizing cream.
What This Product Tell Us
I have used this for a month. In the first two weeks I used this alone, but in the second 2 weeks, I used this together with COSRX BHA Liquid and BHA A-Sol samples. If you already aware of BHA, you know that BHA is great for exfoliating. Some people claimed BHA can help reduce acne scars, and so does the midnight cream. When I used COSRX BHA Liquid + Midnight Cream or BHA A-Sol+Midnight Cream, a combination of both could actually make acne scars fade faster. I was like “OMG this is a Disney!”; because if I don’t use any skin care, it will take 2-3 months before it fade away. I think my newest scars will be gone in a month.
But is it really help me with the eczema? The answer: Yes. Well, I still notice blood vessels around my nose, as clear as the sky.
I don’t know this is only my suggestion or not, but the appearance of my side nose is better than before. The flaky skin is almost gone, even if I still have it, I can take it easy because it was collected around my side nose. Maybe the real result will come after a few months of use.
I think I come to like it. It actually can reduce redness and flaky skin on nose and my chin.
I bought this from Althea Indonesia for about Rp 281.000. Including the delivery cost. It is not that cheap, but it actually worked. Although not as fast as I want to (I’m just too impatient!)
Will I Repurchase?
I have to wait several months to prove it. I can not guaranty I’ll buy the second. But this is really help me fighting eczema, although not that kind of holy grail to me.
I have another alternative: Indoganic Rosehip Oil and COSRX Hyaluronic Acid + BHA A Sol. Click review here!
